Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Clarity Counseling of Delaware website (claritydelaware.com) or by engaging our clinical services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or engage our services.
These Terms govern your use of our website and your general relationship with Clarity Counseling of Delaware as a practice. They do not replace your signed client intake agreement, informed consent forms, or Notice of Privacy Practices, which govern the clinical relationship in full.
About Our Services
Clarity Counseling of Delaware is a licensed mental health practice providing virtual outpatient therapy services to residents of Delaware. Our clinicians are licensed in the State of Delaware and may only provide services to individuals physically located in Delaware at the time of each session, unless otherwise authorized under applicable licensure laws.
We offer individual therapy, couples therapy, and specialty services including treatment for anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, and grief. A full description of our services is available at claritydelaware.com/services.
Not a Substitute for Emergency Care
The services provided by Clarity Counseling of Delaware are outpatient mental health services and are not appropriate for psychiatric emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, are in danger of harming yourself or others, or require immediate assistance, please:
- Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room
- Call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988)
- Text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line
Our website, contact forms, and email are not monitored around the clock and are not appropriate channels for crisis communication.
Virtual Sessions
All therapy sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. By scheduling a session, you confirm that:
- You are physically located in the State of Delaware at the time of the session
- You are in a private, confidential location where you can speak freely
- You have a reliable internet connection and appropriate device
- You understand that technical difficulties may occasionally disrupt sessions and that your clinician will make reasonable efforts to reconnect or reschedule
Scheduling, Cancellations, and No-Shows
Appointments may be scheduled through our online scheduling system (powered by SimplePractice) or by contacting us directly. We ask that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
Late cancellations (less than 24 hours' notice) and missed appointments (no-shows) may be subject to a cancellation fee. This fee is typically not covered by insurance. Your clinician will review the specific cancellation policy with you during intake, and it will be outlined in your client agreement.
Fees and Payment
Our current session fees are available upon request. Fees are due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance. We accept payment via the methods outlined in your client agreement.
If you have difficulty affording services, please speak with your clinician. We are committed to working with clients to the extent possible.
Insurance
Clarity Counseling of Delaware accepts Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Highmark Health Options, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Meritain Health, and Medicare. It is your responsibility to verify your mental health benefits with your insurance carrier prior to beginning services, including your deductible, copay, coinsurance, and any session limits.
We will submit claims to your insurer on your behalf for covered services. You are responsible for any amounts not covered by your insurance, including deductibles, copays, and non-covered services. If your insurance changes or lapses, please notify us as soon as possible.
If you are not using insurance, we will provide a Good Faith Estimate of costs prior to beginning services in accordance with the No Surprises Act. Learn more on our Good Faith Estimate page.
Confidentiality and HIPAA
Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. All clinical services are governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Delaware state confidentiality laws. Your clinician will review our Notice of Privacy Practices with you during intake, which explains in detail how your health information is used and protected, and the limited circumstances under which it may be disclosed without your consent.
Please note that mandatory reporting laws require clinicians to disclose certain information — including reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect, or credible risk of imminent harm to self or others — regardless of confidentiality protections.
