Who We Are
Clarity Counseling of Delaware is a virtual therapy practice serving clients throughout Delaware. Our website address is https://claritydelaware.com. We can be reached at [email protected].
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information gathered through this website. It applies to website visitors and individuals who contact us through our online forms. It does not govern the handling of protected health information (PHI) exchanged during the course of clinical care — that is covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you will receive as part of your intake paperwork.
Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Contact and Inquiry Forms
When you submit a contact or consultation request form on this website, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and any message you choose to include. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and, if applicable, to schedule an initial consultation.
Online Scheduling
If you book an appointment through our scheduling widget, you will interact with SimplePractice, our practice management platform. Information submitted through that widget is governed by SimplePractice's own privacy policy in addition to this one. SimplePractice is a HIPAA-compliant platform.
Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, our site automatically collects certain technical data when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to maintain site security, analyze aggregate traffic patterns, and improve the website experience. It is not used to identify individual visitors.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to support site functionality. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites or to serve targeted advertising. See the Cookies and Tracking section below for more detail.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to consultation requests and general inquiries
- Schedule and coordinate appointments
- Send administrative communications related to your care (appointment reminders, intake forms, etc.)
- Maintain and improve website functionality
- Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
HIPAA and Your Health Information
Clarity Counseling of Delaware is a HIPAA-covered entity. Any protected health information (PHI) you share with your clinician — including session content, diagnoses, treatment plans, and billing records — is governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and our Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this website privacy policy.
Your Notice of Privacy Practices explains your rights regarding your health information, including your right to access, amend, and restrict certain uses and disclosures of your records. You will receive a copy during intake. If you have questions about your clinical records or HIPAA rights, please contact us at [email protected].
Third-Party Services
We work with the following third-party services that may process information submitted through this website:
SimplePractice
We use SimplePractice for appointment scheduling and practice management. SimplePractice is a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record and scheduling platform. When you interact with the scheduling widget on our site, you are subject to SimplePractice's Privacy Policy.
Google Fonts
This website loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may collect limited technical data (such as IP address) as part of serving font files. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website in the aggregate — for example, which pages are visited most often and how users navigate the site. Google Analytics collects standard technical information such as browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. We do not send personally identifiable information or health information to Google Analytics. You may opt out of data collection using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. See Google's Privacy Policy for more.
Meta Conversions API
When you submit our contact form, our server sends a conversion event to Meta Platforms, Inc. via the Meta Conversions API. This server-side signal includes only technical data (your IP address, browser type, and the URL of the page you submitted from). It does not include your name, email, message, or any health information. This signal is used solely to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. See Meta's Privacy Policy for more.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Our contact and intake forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-protection service. Turnstile may collect technical data (such as browser characteristics) to verify that form submissions come from real users. No personal or health information is shared with Cloudflare through this mechanism. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses cookies for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality, including form submissions and bot-protection verification (Cloudflare Turnstile).
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to count visits and understand aggregate site usage. No personally identifiable information is transmitted.
- Advertising: We use Meta's Conversions API (server-side only) to measure ad effectiveness. No advertising cookies are set by our website.
You can configure your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. You may also opt out of Google Analytics data collection using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features of this website.
Data Retention
We retain website contact form submissions and inquiry records for a reasonable period sufficient to respond to your inquiry and, where applicable, to support your care. If you become a client, relevant contact records may be incorporated into your clinical file, which is retained in accordance with Delaware state law and HIPAA requirements (generally a minimum of seven years from the date of last service, or as otherwise required).
If you would like us to delete inquiry records that have not been incorporated into a clinical file, please contact us and we will honor reasonable requests where doing so is not prohibited by law.
Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Right to access: You may request a copy of information we hold about you.
- Right to correction: You may ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Right to deletion: You may request deletion of personal information we hold, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Right to opt out of communications: You may unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
If you are a current or former client, requests related to your clinical records are governed by HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices — please contact your clinician directly.
Children's Privacy
This website is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our website without parental consent, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.
We do provide therapy services to minors, but those services and associated records are governed by HIPAA and Delaware law, not this website privacy policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of this website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
